Controlling Sulphur

When times are hard, people become inventive.  Field PVT was invited by a sewage treatment company to treat oil lakes in the Middle East. To knock on an oil&gas companies door as a sewage treatment specialist to offer better oil required a lot off explaining, but bacteria was the connection.

The bacteria changed fats into water based agricultural products.  Known to use the hands on approach of technicians and scientists, Field PVT experiments on refinery and oil lakes showed Sulphur reduction from 7% to less than detection limit of 0.01% and improvement to API 23. The process design was biological-mechanical. The process was repeated in Cape Town on Saudi Blend of 2.44%  Sulphur to less than detection.

Like a lion tamer in a circus, controlling the behavior of the bacteria was the art and we noticed that the bacteria could bite a tar or wax molecule in half to form diesel molecules.  The appetite of the bacteria was more for large hydrocarbon molecules and the lighter molecules were left alone.

Now we could strategize two products:

One a biological mechanical oil washing process to change oil from sour to sweet with improved API

The other soil remediation by converting hydrocarbons into agricultural products.
Currently commercial trials and product approval is in progress.
